Our Homemade Timeline

whole class

team 2In our class, we have been working on making a timeline of the events in our history book. We were split up into two teams. The Timeline has helped me understand the information a lot better. It helped because I could see the events and when they took place. It was a lot of fun to write about the events and get to draw pictures about them. It helped me remember the facts for the test.

Fall Festival

annaToday is the 30th of October and everyone in the States knows that tomorrow is Halloween. But as a Christian school, we don’t celebrate that  holiday. So instead, we are celebrating fall.

For Halloween, everyone dresses up. So our school decided that we could dress up as well. As long as we didn’t do anything like a zombie, ghost, ect. Today, my friend and I are dressed up as “Black and White” musketeers. (A musketeer was someone who protected the king a long time ago.)

Today, we are going to have an “end-of-the-day-school-activity.” The Jr. High and HS are going to be in charge of the games and the Elementary are going to play the games for candy. We each have a “booth” that we will be in charge of. My friends and I made a game called “Don’t Drop the Pumpkin.”

In “Don’t Drop the Pumpkin,” we will have several pylons arranged in a zig-zag with a group of cups at the end. The students will have a spoon and an orange ping-pong ball (the pumpkin). They have to walk around the pylons ,with the “pumpkin” on the spoon, without dropping it. At the end they will have to drop the “pumpkin” into a cup. On the bottom of the cup is a number and the number is how much candy they get. They will have three tries if they drop the ball and if they can’t do it, they get at least one candy.

I think it will be a lot of fun and I can’t wait to see how the Elementary like the activities.
